The 100 Word Review

Just for Kix, I recently drove two hours into Baltimore’s Fells Point for The Blue Moon Cafe’s famous Cap’n Crunch French toast.  A playful creation by owner Chef Simington, the toast’s crust dares to scrape the roof of your mouth–brisk, crisp, decided.  In sharp contrast is the bread’s mouthfeel of a freshly fried doughnut, which went down as more of a hot gobbet than a bite.  Sitting atop it all are cool dollops of thick whipped cream, slowly melting like an iceberg.  The cafe is known best for its Cap’n Crunch French toast; ultimately, the reputation is definitely well deserved.
